Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American businesswoman for more than 20 years. She is currently the president as president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the National Basketball Association's controlling owners. Buss is an California native who grew in a wealthy family. Jerry Buss' father was an investor in real estate and later owned the Lakers as well as various other sports organizations. Her parents parted ways in 1972, which caused her to feel like she was abandoned. When she was 19 years old she inherited her role as General Manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as their General Manager. The team was later renamed an organization called the Los Angeles Blades, a professional, roller-hockey club. She was the president at the Great Western Forum, before being elected Vice President for the Lakers. Buss' father died in 2013, as did the Lakers were passed down by Buss and her five siblings via a trust. Each of the siblings had the same number of votes. She took on the role of the president for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss owns a co-owned business Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotional company based in Los Angeles.
